I cannot write a better or more comprehensive article than the one by James Bennett on CosmeticsandSkin.com, so just click on the image below to go there and enjoy reading about this fascinating woman who was so ahead of her time:
Seems like the long-lasting lip products of today still have not been able to overcome the major issue that Hazel Bishop encountered 68 years ago: Very drying. Hazel couldn't resolve it and though it's better today, these type of lip colors are still like wearing the Sahara.
I hope you read that whole article, even though it's pretty long. In a nutshell, Hazel's involvement with her company didn't last very long, due to Raymond Spector and his advertising agency's involvement. After many problems and an unsuccessful lawsuit, Hazel moved on to a series of other careers. But her name lives on as the inventor of the first smear-proof lipstick.
Till next time,
"This is an industry with built-in obsolescence. The trick is to get the new colors out before the old bottles and containers are quite empty. Women can be easily persuaded that these are now out of date and that they must move on to a new color." ~ Hazel Bishop
I loved this!! So interesting! xxx, Melissa
